For those who wish to explore on foot, the Miner’s Way & Historical Trail are waymarked long distance walking routes over three counties that form a network of paths that total 128 kms (80 miles) with a total ascent of some 2,150mtrs.
The Miners Way gets its name from the coal mining which took place in the Arigna Mines up until recent times and follows the paths the miners travelled on their journey to work. There are also many amazing historical sites to discover on route including the Prehistoric Carrowkeel Megalithic Complex (predates Stonehenge and Newgrange) set against the beautiful backdrop of the Bricklieve Mountains.
Less than a 30 minute drive from Boyle is the longest coastal driving route in the world, the Wild Atlantic Way. The Wild Atlantic Way is a driving route like no other, 2,500 km of the world's most spectacular coastline stretches before you guaranteeing lasting memories and unforgettable experiences.
Boyle is only 30 minutes drive from Ireland West Airport Knock and only 2 hours drive from Dublin. Boyle is served by the N4 National Primary Route between Sligo and Dublin, and is easily accessible by public transport, both bus and train. Travelling by boat?
