Clonalis House in Castlerea, Co Roscommon, offers the visitor a unique opportunity to stay in what was once the home of the O'Conors, the High Kings of Connaught. This ancestral house has been passed down from generation to generation and a warm welcome by the O'Conor Nash family awaits you on your visit.

Clonalis House was built in 1878 by Charles Owen O’Conor Don. It has 45 rooms and was built in Victorian Italianate style. The house contains correspondence, heirlooms, object d’art and portraits of the O’Conors from the past 600 years. The Library, containing 7000 volumes, is widely considered to be one of the best collections in private ownership in Ireland. For more on the history of the house, click here
